Turning 40, A Time Of Celebration and Empowerment!

December 27th, 2005

I am about to enter into a new era of life, my 40’s! As my December 27th birthday swiftly approaches, I begin thinking about the many ways that God has blessed me. Turning 40 is a milestone in a woman’s life. To all of you whom God has blessed to make it, Congratulations!

Even though this new decade that we are entering is a time for celebration, it is also a time when women should empower themselves with education on how to stay fit and healthy. Our bodies are changing and getting ready for the next phase, menopause. Although the average age for menopause in U.S. women is 51, symptoms begin to appear years earlier. Called the menopause transition, this stage is defined by physical, emotional, and psychological changes. A woman’s metabolism slows down and her weight shifts from her hips and thighs to her abdomen, shoulders, and chest.

While this life transition can be a time for celebration, it can also lead to anxiety and depression for some women. Please talk to your healthcare professional if these feelings become overwhelming. Begin a life-style regimen of eating healthy with plenty of fruits and vegetables and exercising regularly. Staying healthy and informed can make this transition powerful and adventurous for women. Look Out Ladies,

The Best Is Yet To Come!!
